Our Director

Mr. David Prince

Mr. Prince has been the Director of Bands at Apple Valley High School since 1998. Prior to that, he taught Elementary, Junior High and High School Bands and Choirs in Idaho for eleven years. Mr. Prince grew up in Arlington, Texas, where he enjoyed playing in his school bands on trombone. He graduated from high school in 1981. He attended Texas Christian University and Boise State University, where he graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree.

Mr. Prince has performed all over the United States as a singer and guitarist. He has written over fifty songs. He performed professionally as a singer/guitarist for several years. He released his first CD, Road Trip, in 2005, which he also produced.

Mr. Prince is currently a member of the San Bernardino County Music Educator's Association Board of Directors, where he serves as the high school band representative for the high desert.

Mr. Prince and his wife, Amy (also a teacher at AVHS), have been married for over 20 years. They have two sons: Andy and Sam. Andy is a junior civil engineering major at Boise State University. Sam is a freshman at UC Santa Barbara, majoring in Film Production.

Matt is a 2006 graduate of Apple Valley High School, where he was the captain for our 2006 ADLA
championship drumline. In 2006-2007 he attended Boise State University, where he was a member of the
Keith Stein Blue Thunder Marching Band.

attends Victor Valley College.
